Nice and welcoming place. We visited late in the afternoon on a weekday, and it was quite relaxing. We ordered the Chicken Shawarma Arabica (LAVA) and the Lamb and Beef Shawarma Plate. Both were good and delicious. The portion of the former could be a little larger.
Incredible high quality food. You will not be disappointed. Very affordable as well.
Hot tip: their chicken wings are FANTASTIC. Bit of a weird order on my side since I usually stick to more authentic menu items but I was really feeling some fried chicken and I'm very glad I ordered them (in addition to a falafel wrap that was also amazing). Without exaggeration the best wings I've ever had. They take their food seriously.
Great service and beautiful interior, too.
Nice cozy Mediterranean restaurant, they have a few screens showing soccer which is great for soccer fans, the appetizers were amazing, the baba ghanouj, the delicious bread, the beet salad are all 5 stars, I had the mixed lava bowl and the reason I am giving it 4 stars not 5 is that the beef is too fatty, the chicken was good but I ended up leaving or having to trim most of the beef which I didn't like.
Wow, this is a must try in NYC! When you walk in you’re greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and wonderful Middle Eastern inspired decor. The service is amazing, and our waiter Harley was very delightful! As for the food, it comes out very quickly. My party of 6 ordered the chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, and wagyu burger. The chicken shawarma had so much flavor, the Wagyu burger was such good, and the lamb shawarma is very juicy. Also, the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend this restaurant❤️❤️🇵🇸
I want to give this place a great rating because the main item of the meal was very tasty. Sadly it was not what I ordered so… points off there. It took awhile to get because a huge 12 person group came in right after I ordered, plus the waiter’s English was pretty bad and it was a struggle just to get the right soda. This is why I kept the order. As for the fries? Save your money and don’t buy the combo meal; just the main course. As you can see it’s a pretty meager portion and worse all 10 of these fries were stale. Maybe I’ll give this place a second shot one day… but probably not.
This is one of my favorite places in NYC because the vibes and the people are so nice.
If you’re looking for a lamb sandwich but nothing from a food truck, this is a great place! The portion is filling and it’s $13. I would say try their grape leaves too, but the makdous is nothing like the actual makdous. Their tabouleh could also be better, finer dicing and more lemon juice.
I was super excited to see makdous offered in NYC but it’s nothing like makdous so don’t spend money on it. However, their sandwiches are great! I haven’t tried their chicken shawarma but my friends said it’s really good.
You can also get ice cream inside the shop! And most importantly, the food is halal!
The restaurant also (I think) sells Zamzam water and various teas.
All in all though, this place good that I went to get their sandwiches 3 days in a row. If you’re on a tight budget but want to eat more than food from the trucks, give this a try!
It's a small place that serves food late. They also have paintings hanging on the wall that's for sale, which is different. The chicken kabobs were excellent. However, the chicken in the biryani bowl was very dry.
Amazing Food, service, and atmosphere. As you enter the restaurant was greeted by Arabic coffee. Must come!!!
